St. Benedict of Nursia Council 16746 • Chartered 2017
Empowering Catholic Men in
Charity, Unity, & Fraternity
We are a dedicated brotherhood of Catholic men aged 18+ serving Saint Benedict Parish and the Milton community. Guided by our Catholic faith and our Pastor & Chaplain, we put faith into action every single day.
The Four Core Principles
Founded by Blessed Michael McGivney in 1882, the Knights of Columbus stands upon four timeless pillars that guide every Knight in Council 16746.
Charity
“Love thy neighbor as thyself.” Our Catholic faith teaches us that compassion requires active deeds. From parish food drives with Food for Life to community disaster relief, Coats for Kids, and local Milton families in need.
Unity
Together we accomplish far more than any individual can alone. By uniting as brother Knights with Saint Benedict Parish and our Pastor, we stand as one body defending our Catholic faith and serving our neighbor.
Fraternity
A genuine brotherhood where Catholic men encourage one another spiritually, support each other’s families through hardships, and forge enduring friendships centered on faith, honor, and mutual respect.
Patriotism
Proudly supporting our community and our nation. We honor those who serve in uniform, promote civic engagement, and defend religious liberty and moral values in our beloved Canadian society.
Saint Benedict of Nursia Council 16746
Established in 2017 in Milton, Ontario, our council takes its name and inspiration from Saint Benedict of Nursia (c. 480–548 AD), Father of Western Monasticism and Patron of Europe. Benedict’s motto, “Ora et Labora” (Prayer and Work), perfectly captures our call as Catholic gentlemen: to unite prayerful devotion with tireless service.
Operating directly under the pastoral guidance of our Pastor and Chaplain at Saint Benedict Parish, Council 16746 brings together Catholic men from all walks of life—young professionals, fathers, retirees, and community leaders—who share a common goal: living their Catholic faith boldly and making a tangible difference in Milton.
“The Knights of Columbus is the largest Catholic fraternal service organization in the world with over 2 million members. In our parish, we are sons, husbands, and fathers putting faith into action every single week.”
Whether serving at the parish barbecue, organizing the annual Milton Rosary Rally, providing coats for children in winter, or gathering for fraternal fellowship, our brothers stand ready to serve.
Saint Benedict’s Rule & Motto
“Listen carefully, my son, to the master’s instructions, and attend to them with the ear of your heart… Prefer nothing whatever to the love of Christ.”
